This action plan is for active and retired service members of the U.S. Armed Services. If you have been deployed and upon returning been diagnosed with a post deployment condition you may qualify for a emotional support or service animal. Midwest Animal Assisted Therapy and Education Organization, a non-profit animal assisted activities in the healthcare profession organization, is providing emotional support and service animals on a case by case basis. Combined with our licensed and registered healthcare professionals, our goal is to provide you with services that will meet the needs of the condition you are working with. You have and continue to serve our country and we want to provide services to you at no personal cost. We are accepting meetings at this time. Use our contact us form at the bottom of this page. We look forward to hearing from you.

Veterans Day is November 11th every year. However, one day is not enough time to say thank you to our men and women in service to our country. Unfortunately, some of our men and women come back from deployment forever changed. A post-deployment disability can make each day a struggle and a challenge. Physical and psychological disabilities are their new reality and you can help them by making a donation that can change their lives.
We are currently working with veterans by providing service dogs and training with healthcare follow up at no cost to them. This is our way of saying Thank You For Your Service by providing them a service for free. Some of the veterans we work with have reported a decrease in pain, improved sleep, improved socialization, improved mobility or activity level, decrease need for medication or dosage, and increase in a sense of meaningful purpose.
We still have veterans on our waiting list. Your donation today will help us continue to help our veterans tomorrow. Click on the donation button below. Thank You
For many years studies have proven the effectiveness of emotional support and service animals.
Before Covid-19 Congress was in the process of passing the "Puppies Assisting Wounded Servicemembers for Veterans Therapy Act" or "Paws for Veterans Therapy Act". This act was to be a 5 year study on the effectiveness of service dogs with veterans and provide some funding and get veterans the service dogs they need.
Since Covid-19, this act has not been passed and the act is not currently funded. We had been in contact with our local Veterans Administration and decided to go ahead with our program without the government funding.
This is Why we need your help.
If you would like to help a service member, your donation would be very much appreciated. We currently have servicemembers waiting for service dogs. We have to purchase or pay adoption fees to acquire these dogs and then have them assessed by a veterinarian. They may need a refresher course in basic obedience and or advanced training to learn how to provide a needed task. You can help an active or retired veteran today.
